UDS Year-End Show & Short Tour Championships

***NEW THIS YEAR***

  • Western Dressage Test of Choice

  • Dressage Seat Equitation.

  • Leadline

As always, you can practice 3rd level to FEI test of choice in addition to Intro through 2nd level.

No need to qualify for the open classes!

Championship classes will be held simultaneously.

@ Zephyr Ranch 9466 S 400 E, Salem, UT 84653

Contact us if you would like to volunteer or sponsor a class!

We are also seeking a ring sponsor.

CHAMPIONSHIP classes are offered at Intro-3, Training-3, First-3,and Second-3 to AA, JR/Yrs and Open riders.

Freestyle championship classes through Second level are also offered.

To qualify for year-end STS Championship classes, the following criteria must be met:

1. For the Final Short Tour Show, the competitor MUST be a UDS member on or before the day of the Short Tour Show.

2. The intent of the Short Tour is to give new dressage riders a learning opportunity, to explore their interest in the discipline. For this reason, any horse/rider combination may only show in the Short Tour Championships at or above the level at which they have shown in a USDF/USEF recognized show during that year. For example, if a horse/rider combination has shown at a USDF/USEF recognized show at third level, they may not compete at the Short Tour Championships at Second Level during the same competition year. They may still compete in the Short Tour show, they are just not eligible for a Championship at Second Level.

3. Automatic qualification and an invitation to show in the CHAMPIONSHIP class if you placed 1st through 3rd place or earned a minimum score of 58% at a Short Tour Show.

UDS Winter Symposium 2019 Presenters

Lisa Bauman – Lisa Bauman is a USEA ICP certified trainer that specializes in building a solid foundation for both horse and rider from which they can effectively define and reach their goals. Lisa bridges the gap between horse and rider fitness by introducing Yoga for Riders. Lisa focuses on core fundamentals that produce correct movement and muscle integration.

Jan Lawrence - Jan Lawrence lives and breathes all things dressage, which has been a lifelong obsession for her. She and her husband, Gary Lawrence teach and train at their family owned and operated facility Millbrook Farms located in Fairfield, Utah. Over their 30-year careers they have been successful in dressage, three day eventing, warmblood breeding, horse show management, clinics and symposia, all while working to create a harmonious equestrian community. Their program to date has produced 40 USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalists, and Bronze and Silver Musical Freestyle Bars.

Jan also collaborated to create a successful seat clinic curriculum for riders with lower back injuries and creates musical freestyles for dressage riders.

Dr. Blair Lybbert – Nearly five years ago Dr. Lybbert and his family arrived in the Park City area from Elko, Nevada where he had practiced equine veterinary medicine for five years. Prior to that experience he completed a year-long internship at Retama Equine Hospital in San Antonio. He attended veterinary school at Texas A&M University after graduating from BYU in 2004. His youth was spent helping with his family’s horse-training business in southern Alberta, Canada, then in Gainesville, TX. He is very active in his church and enjoys spending time with his family. In addition to a wonderful wife he has two pre-teens and a new baby daughter.

Jenni Fairweather - Jenni moved from Australia to the US in early 2016, bringing with her, her home-bred Arabian mare Jensems Suzie Q. She holds a Bachelors of Applied Science (Equine) from Melbourne University. 2018 saw Jenni turn Professional, and once again claimed several National titles including Unanimous National Champion Arabian Sporthorse (Hunter Type). Other regional and National wins include Sporthorse In Hand, Dressage, Western Dressage and Ranch Horse.

PEMF - The Therapulse equipment delivers Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy, or PEMF & is a remarkable treatment that has been in use for both human and animal treatment for decades. The benefits of PEMF are many & varied & there is a wealth of information available if you wish to learn more.

Tapotement Message - Unlike many equine massage units that use orbital motion, whereby the energy disperses laterally, the “Tapoty” uses percussion massage to deeply penetrate to improve circulation & suppleness in tired & tense muscles.

Allie Wicks – Has been a licensed United States Equestrian Federation rated judge in equitation jumpers and hunters for the last 15 years. She also has extensive experience judging Arabian Sport Horse. Allie is currently competing Grand Prix Jumpers and her new 2019 Horse of the Year partner Bellamy. Greg Smith with Beeline Horse Transport - Originally, Beeline started as Teeples Horse Transportation under the instruction of Terry Teeples.  In the late 90’s, Wes Pettingill began to lead the company and changed the name to Beeline Horse Transportation.  Now Beeline has been in business for over 15 years. They pride themselves on their stringent and safety conscious policies and take great pride in taking care of the horses entrusted with them.
