Scholarship Opportunities

UDS Educational Scholarships

The Utah Dressage Society will award up to six (6) scholarships each calendar year. $250 scholarships are available one each to a Junior/Young Rider, Amateur and Open rider to encourage and promote the further training and education of Utah Dressage Society member/horse partnerships. Scholarships are to be used to further the dressage education and training of the applicant.

There are 2 cycles of application receipt and awards: the Spring deadline is March 15 and the Fall deadline is September 15 of each year.

Adolphi Educational Grant

This grant will be awarded to UDS members who are striving to increase their education and contribution to their GMO and USDF/USEF. The UDS will award one $500 Adolphi Educational Grant per year. Since Johanna Adolphi and her daughter Eva-Maria Adolphi have worked for years on the Board of Directors of the UDS, Eva would like past or present UDS Board Members to be given first consideration for the grant, in recognition of their service.

The deadline to apply for this grant will be June 1st of each year.

Bridge Scholarship

Once a year the UDS will award a scholarship of ($500), to an applicant with an average Short Tour Series score of 63% or greater, that has NOT previously competed at a USEF/USDF/USD recognized show Opportunity classes are exempt. This will be used to assist in transition from schooling shows to rated showing.

The purpose of the UDS scholarship is to foster learning for those UDS members committed to the sport, whether it be someone riding at Training Level, or Grand Prix, with weekly lessons or working on their own in an area without access to weekly instruction. The UDS believes continuing education is important and we love being able to offer these scholarships to our members!

Outside of the UDS there are Grants and Scholarships available at The Dressage Foundation.

The Dressage Foundation also has a Benefit Class for those hosting shows as a fundraiser. More information can be found here: https://www.dressagefoundation.org/support/classes.html
